About Kevin Kohjus

I am twenty years old freelance Filmmaker, Cinematographer, Photographer and Editor, from Viljandi, Estonia. Studying currently at Bucks New University on Film & TV production course in the United Kingdom.

I started doing films, clips and experiments with the camera when I was 8-9 years old. In young age, I watched many videos on youtube, which inspired me to replica techniques and getting more better at making videos.

“When you do not know what you are doing and what you are doing is the best – that is inspiration.” – Robert Bresson

I didn´t know, why I was doing and what for, only I knew one thing. I had the motivation, inspiration and creativity to do more and more.
The biggest influence for my life has been my brother, who has a passion for making films. He was making movies in high school, with his classmate and I quickly wanted to be apart from those projects, which was in between the 2010-2012 year. Learned most of my editing, camera and film knowledge, while I was working and learning with them.

Later on, we created our own film production group, started to make commercial and short films. It was turning point for me, I knew from that point I want to be a filmmaker in future. I want to tell stories with beautiful visuals, being cinematographer has able me to be more creative with storytelling.

Cinematography is infinite in its possibilities… much more so than music or language.” – Conrad Hall

I started professionally doing film work, videos and photographs for clients when I was only 13-14 years old. Doing more and more work has helped to improve skills and get more knowledge about a profession.

Last 6-7 years I have done multiple film projects (Working on a feature films), any type of kind videos (Commercials, weddings, events etc), photographs of photoshoots, landscape, people, events, weddings, concerts and being part of hometown community called VLND, which has helped me and inspired to work even harder and making videos, photographs, and telling stories through visuals who nobody hasn´t seen before.
